What is Fitwell Formula?

The Fitwell Formula (FWF) designed me, Jonathan Blake was formed to change all that. This functional integrative wellness opt-in model of self-care operates outside the box of the conventional medical approach. What makes it different? The typical medical model looks to diagnose and treat specific symptoms and disease masking the underlying issues, therefore, creating more chaos within the body leading to a person taking two steps forward, then one step back.

By using curated Lab screenings and correlating this data with your medical and lifestyle history I meticulously search for the underlying cause to your symptoms and complaints. After 20 years of working with hundreds of people as a licensed massage therapist, certified personal trainer and nutritionist in one of the most stressed out places in the world ”New York City”, I see on a regular basis how stress can cause the body to become so overwhelmed that it is unable to function as designed leading to malfunctions, dysfunction or Metabolic Chaos ®. Even though I wanted to be able to help everyone who I saw, I was frustrated with the fact that what works for one person most of the time, does not work for the next.
This frustration led me to jump into the proverbial rabbit hole of research and academic study for the answers to these questions. Now as a qualified Certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner ® I finally have the missing link; the answer to these dumbfounding questions such as: Why don't I lose weight or gain weight even though I exercise 5 to 6 times a week and eat healthy foods? Why am I suffering from low energy, low libido, fatigue, ice-cold tingling extremities, dry skin, hair loss, brain fog, insomnia, poor sleep, muscle aches, constipation, water retention, feeling low and depressed?

Eating healthy is not always healthy
In reality many health practitioners make nutritional recommendations to their clients based on the latest fad or on the general principles of health building rather than an individualized approach. They may recommend paleo today, ketogenic tomorrow, pescatarian on Friday, juice cleanses on Saturday or Vegan on Sunday subscribing themselves and their clients to the never ending cycle of trial and error. Leaving their clients confused, discouraged because of not getting results. The sad truth is that I used to do the same thing. Unfortunately, like most people I subconsciously allowed myself to be influenced by the food industry and the media on what they deem to be the next best thing.
The fact is, one man’s food is another man’s poison. Ten people could be on the same nutritional program and all have different outcomes. Why? For starters, everyone is unique with their own biochemical individuality that determines the type of food we should eat. However, even if you eat for your Metabolic type, you are still influenced by many internal and external hidden stressors that may cause the body to be unable to digest or detoxify itself properly. This can lead to a cascade of problems which may include but is not limited to bloating, diarrhea, belching, weight gain, weight loss, constipation, foggy thinking, fatigue, weakness, getting sick often, not recovering from niggling injuries and so on. To fix this problem, I test each person for their individual Metabolic Type and use specially curated lab screenings to look for hidden stressors that may be the cause of symptoms, diseases or the result of Metabolic Chaos ®.
Exercise is part of the solution but it can also be part of the problem.
